Our 10 fashion FADS that need to come back...

Today on the B&C Show @ 5:30, we'll give you our list of the 10 Fashion Fads that need to make a come back. Why? Because it's so stupid, it's funny. Plus our top ten "come back" list would fly here in Austin, since it's all about "keepin it weird." Hypercolor T-shirts? Isn't someone still selling these at some funky retro store down in SOCO?

My Mom would have ended up in JAIL!...

When I read the story online today about the 45 year old New York woman who kicked both her 10 and 12 year old girls out of her car yesterday, for excessive shenanigans, the first thing that went through my mind was a memory of of MY mom kicking me out of her car for being a brat when I was 9 or 10. Granted, she dropped me off in front of a kindergarden playschool, but it was miles from my house, and she didn't get out to tell anyone what she was doing, just left me in the parking lot. It took me about 60 seconds to realize....holy crap...my mom is leaving me here! I better get it together and hope she comes back!! After driving around the block for 2-3 minutes she pulled up, rolled down the window, and looked down at my over her sunglasses and said, "well? are you going to behave?" I like the blog on The Washington Post and I agree that the Mom, who's already been arrested on charges of endangering the welfare of a child, a misdemeanor, and held in jail overnight. Ms. Primoff, a partner specializing in international finance with the firm Kaye Scholer, is free on $1,500 bail and due back in court on May 21." (Even barred from seeing her kids for a day, until that was lifted by a judge today) should have circled back in 5-10 minutes and picked her kids back up...who knows?? maybe she was on her way to do that...but, I agree there's gotta be laws to protect kids. Here's my point, this woman is gonna get scrutinized and raked over the coals on every major media show over the next week, but my Mom practically did the same thing to me to teach me a lession when I was a kid, and guess what?...I turned out O.K. What about you? What do you do to deal with your kids when they act up? Peace, Carey

James Morrison in our MIX Lounge Friday...

Lots of you reading this have been turned onto cool artists through our MIX private listener lounges over the past years, some of my favorites have been Matt Nathanson, Joshua Radin, Agustana, Sara Bareillis. I'm pumped about James Morrison coming in for a MIX TEXT WITH BENEFITS lounge thsi Friday at 1pm. Check out my favorite Morrison song here. With over 2.5 million views on you tube this artist is for real! He's been compared to James Blunt, but I think he sounds way more like a soulful Lenny Kravitz. Anyway, our MIX lounge is private, but you can win tickets to it by clicking on our the Friends With Benefits banner on our home page.

Cool cakes in Austin...

Over the weekend I made it ouut to the Hill Country Wine & Food Fest, and met Stacey inside one of the wine & food tents Stacey listens to our show and has this cool company called http://www.cakebybridges.com/. After I unglued myself from her food booth (her "call balls" are sort of the size of a truffle with the taste of chocolate, vanilla, lemon, and liquour filled cake!) I gave her my business card and she emailed me today. She does catering too, and some of her wedding cake creations are really unique. If you or a friend have a wedding coming this summer, you should check her stuff, and tell her you saw it on my blog!

Older Idols...
This is a great link to see 47 year old Susan Boyle rip it up on "Britian's Got Talent." it's the British version of Idol here, and this lady makes another case for a 30+ Idol version here in the states. I, for one, think the current Idol format is a bit played out. There's lots of 30 and 40 year olds that are marketable and could have a huge impact on helping to create new music stars for our generation. What do you think?

Mmmmm....Bacon!

I'got the perfect cure for a hangover! Not that I've had a hangover recently, or anything...if you're reading this, you weren't over in my neighborhood at Vino Vino watching me drink a half bottle of wine last night? No? Good, cause that wasn't me. Anyway...the latest from researchers suggests you sizzle up the bacon after a long happy hour that lasted way more than an hour. "Bread is high in carbohydrates and bacon is full of protein, which breaks down into amino acids. Your body needs these amino acids, so eating them will make you feel good."
Ms Roberts told The Mirror: "Bingeing on alcohol depletes neurotransmitters too, but bacon contains a high level of aminos which tops these up, giving you a clearer head."
Researchers also found a complex chemical interaction in the cooking of bacon produces the winning combination of taste and smell which is almost irresistible.
The reaction between amino acids in the bacon and reducing sugars in the fat is what provides the sandwich with its appeal.
